Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at an e-commerce platform in Alberton. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is in Alberton (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language

You'll need

Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Experience writing automated tests

Extra points for

Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
