Job Description

A personal injury law firm in Middelburg (MP) has space for a law graduate ready to start practical vocational training. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a personal injury law firm on the Middelburg (MP) side of Mpumalanga.

What you'll actually do

Draft letters of demand, summonses and particulars of claim
Prepare trial bundles and discovery affidavits
Research case law and legislation on SAFLII and Juta or LexisNexis
Issue and serve documents at the magistrate's court and High Court
Attend court with counsel and take notes during trials
Record your time on the practice management system every day

You'll need

Proficient in Word, Outlook and legal research databases
Clear criminal record, as required for admission
Ready to sign a practical vocational training contract registered with the LPC
Good legal research and clear written English
Willing to work late before trials and filing deadlines

Extra points for

Moot court or legal clinic experience
Second official language used by the firm's clients
