Job Description

You'll do your articles at a commercial law firm in Kempton Park and learn the practice from the ground up. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is in Kempton Park (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What you'll actually do

Take instructions from clients and write clear attendance notes
Study for the LPC competency-based examinations alongside the work
Record your time on the practice management system every day
Draft letters of demand, summonses and particulars of claim
Attend court with counsel and take notes during trials

Must-haves

Code B driver's licence and a reliable car for court runs
Willing to work late before trials and filing deadlines
Good legal research and clear written English
LLB degree from a South African university
