Job Description

A conveyancing firm in Midrand needs someone who knows the Deeds Office process cold. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The site is in Midrand; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

The work, day to day

  • Request bond cancellation figures and guarantees from banks
  • Prepare deeds of transfer, powers of attorney and bond documents
  • Book signing appointments and explain costs to buyers and sellers
  • Apply for transfer duty receipts on SARS eFiling
  • Fix Deeds Office rejection notes quickly and relodge
  • Open transfer files from signed offers to purchase and check the terms

What you need

  • Admission as a conveyancer for conveyancer posts
  • Organised enough to run 60 or more live files
  • Clear, polite updates to anxious buyers and sellers
  • Knowledge of bank panel instruction portals and LAWtrust digital signing
  • Experience on a conveyancing system such as GhostConvey, LegalSuite or AJS

Helpful, not essential

  • Sectional title and new development experience
  • Estate late transfers

What you get

  • Normal office hours with rare weekend work
  • Registration bonus per file at some firms
  • Parking or taxi allowance for Deeds Office runs

How to apply for this job

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): conveyancer admission certificate if applying as a conveyancer, list of banks and portals you have worked on plus conveyancing course certificate.
  3. Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
  4. Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 5 working days.

How to stand out

  • Name the conveyancing software and bank portals you know in your first CV section.
  • Mention the Deeds Office you usually lodge at, such as Pretoria or Cape Town, since practice differs slightly.
