Job Description

This civil engineering consultancy in White River needs someone who can check a design and then go and check it was built right. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a civil engineering consultancy on the White River side of Mpumalanga.

What you'll actually do

Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
Write design reports and handover documents
Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments

What you need

Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
Good grasp of South African design codes for your field

Extra points for
