Geotechnical Engineer (Foundations)

You'll design and supervise infrastructure people use every day, with the municipal infrastructure department in Secunda. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Secunda; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
• Write design reports and handover documents
• Chair site meetings and handle contractor queries
• Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures
• Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts

• Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
• Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
• At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
• BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering

• Master's degree in structural or water engineering
• Contract management training for NEC or GCC
