Job Description

Every room at this conference hotel in Johannesburg CBD should feel brand new, and you'll make that happen. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Johannesburg CBD-based, with most of your time spent at a conference hotel.

What your day looks like

Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.
Clean bathrooms, showers and toilets with the correct colour-coded cloths.
Vacuum, mop and dust rooms from top to bottom.
Report broken fittings, leaks and damage to maintenance.
Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
Inspect rooms against the checklist before release to front office.
Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.

You'll need

You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift
Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings
Grade 10 or higher
Weekend and public holiday work
Fit enough to lift mattresses and push trolleys all day

Helpful, not essential

A supervisor course or time spent running a floor
Basic first aid certificate
