Job Description

Roads, water, buildings: the civil engineering consultancy in Alberton needs a civil engineer who can take a project from design to site. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a civil engineering consultancy on the Alberton side of Gauteng.

What you'll actually do

Write design reports and handover documents
Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
Review geotechnical reports and choose suitable foundations
Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software

Must-haves

At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
Good grasp of South African design codes for your field
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
