Job Description

You'll mix, carry, dig and clean up so the tradespeople on a road rehabilitation project in Rosslyn can keep building. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: Rosslyn, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
Clear rubble and load it into skips
Dig trenches and foundations to the depth the foreman marks
Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes

You'll need

Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
Prepared to travel between sites in the area
Willing to start early, often at 06:30
