Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Patch, monitor, back up and harden systems at a managed services provider in Soweto. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Soweto, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Plan hardware refreshes and licence renewals with a budget
• Handle access requests and keep records that support POPIA compliance
• Configure switches, VLANs, VPNs and firewall rules
• Manage users, groups and conditional access in Entra ID
• Review security logs and investigate suspicious sign-ins
• Run and test backups, and do regular restore drills

• Willing to do standby and after-hours maintenance
• Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python
• Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewall knowledge
• Clear change management and documentation habits
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 skills, or Linux for Linux posts

• ISO 27001 audit experience
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Wazuh
• Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solutions Architect Associate
