Full Stack Developer (React and Node.js)

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a fintech start-up in Soweto. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is a fintech start-up on the Soweto side of Gauteng. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Write unit and integration tests before you merge
• Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
• Document how your features work for support and new developers
• Pair with junior developers to unblock them
• Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
• Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
• Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning

• You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
• Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
• Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
• A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
• Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
• Experience writing automated tests

• Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
