Job Description

Guests at this sports bar and grill in Umlazi come back for the people, and you'll be one of the reasons. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Umlazi-based, with most of your time spent at a sports bar and grill. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.
Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.

You'll need

Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
Quick with basic maths and card machines
You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests

Nice if you have

Responsible Service of Alcohol training
Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
