Job Description

Passengers in Rosslyn trust a school transport operator to get them there safely, and that trust is on your shoulders. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a school transport operator on the Rosslyn side of Gauteng.

What you'll actually do

Follow speed limits strictly; buses are tracked
Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
Give tourists a friendly welcome and help with luggage on charters
Check passenger tickets, tags or staff cards when boarding
Count passengers and make sure nobody stands beyond the limit
Drive fixed routes and keep to the timetable
Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives

You'll need

Valid PrDP for passengers (P)
Valid Code 10 or Code 14 licence
At least 3 years of bus or taxi driving
Patient and friendly with passengers
Punctual for very early starts

Extra points for

Tour coach experience with charters
Fluent in more than one language
Experience on mine or staff transport routes
