Job Description

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a coal haulage contractor in Centurion pays for. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a coal haulage contractor in Centurion. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Keep the logbook and tachograph or telematics records up to date
Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads

What you need

Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Passport for cross-border routes

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Knowledge of SADC border routes
