Code 14 Car Carrier Driver

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a long-haul freight fleet in Randburg pays for. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Randburg (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
• Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
• Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
• Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
• Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids

• At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
• Able to be away from home for several nights at a time
• Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
• Passport for cross-border routes
• Clean criminal record

• Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
• Clean record on a telematics driving score
• Knowledge of SADC border routes

• Paid PrDP renewal
• Provident fund and medical aid option
• Overnight and subsistence allowance on trips

• Put your licence code, PrDP expiry date and years on Code 14 in the first three lines. Transport managers scan for those first.
• Expect a driving test with a real truck. Arrive rested and do your pre-trip check out loud so the assessor sees it.
