Code 10 Driver (Waste Collection Truck)

You'll run local delivery routes around Springs for a frozen food distributor, dropping 10 to 20 stops a day. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a frozen food distributor in Springs. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Check the load against invoices before signing it out
• Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving
• Fill in the trip sheet with kilometres, fuel and stops
• Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading
• Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
• Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away
• Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning

• Valid Code 10 (C1) licence
• Clean driving record
• Valid PrDP for goods (G)
• Honest with cash and customer goods
• At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
• Good knowledge of roads in and around the city

• Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
• Crane or HIAB operator certificate

• Overtime on month-end and peak days
• Home every night
• Company-paid PrDP renewals
• Delivery incentive per completed route

• Mention cash handling if you have done COD deliveries. Honest cash drivers are what distributors worry about most.
• Name the areas you know well. A driver who already knows the route saves the company money from day one.
