Job Description

Drive, deliver, get the signature, next stop: this is route work for a beverage wholesaler in Welkom. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a beverage wholesaler on the Welkom side of Free State. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Check the truck's oil, water, tyres and lights before leaving
Plan your drop order with the dispatch clerk each morning
Manage your assistant on the truck and share the offloading
Operate the truck-mounted crane to offload bricks or pallets
Check the load against invoices before signing it out
Keep empties and returns separate for credit
Report damaged goods or refused deliveries straight away

What you need

Good knowledge of roads in and around the city
At least 2 years driving rigid trucks
Valid PrDP for goods (G)
Clean driving record
Honest with cash and customer goods

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a sales-and-delivery route
Crane or HIAB operator certificate
