Job Description

Long hours, clean record, safe arrival every time: that is what a cross-border transport company in Bethlehem pays for. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Bethlehem (Free State). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Check the load is secured, strapped or sealed before leaving the depot
Keep the cab clean and report defects at the end of each trip
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Deliver to customers and get proof-of-delivery signed and stamped
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts

What you need

Valid PrDP (G for goods, D for dangerous goods on tankers)
Passport for cross-border routes
Valid Code 14 (EC) licence
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time

Extra points for

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
Knowledge of SADC border routes
Dangerous goods training certificate
