Job Description

The road is your office with a coal haulage contractor based in Sasolburg, and the load gets there because of you. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Sasolburg-based, with most of your time spent at a coal haulage contractor. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What you'll actually do

Follow hazchem rules, placards and emergency procedures on tanker loads
Complete border paperwork at Beitbridge, Lebombo or other posts
Do a full pre-trip inspection: tyres, brakes, lights, couplings and fluids
Carry out fuel stops with the fuel card and keep the slips
Report breakdowns, delays and incidents to the controller immediately
Check reefer temperatures and record them on cold-chain loads

You'll need

Medically fit, including eyesight
At least 3 years on Code 14 trucks
Clean driving record with no serious accidents
Passport for cross-border routes
Able to be away from home for several nights at a time

Experience on a specific trailer type (tanker, tipper, reefer)
