Job Description

Collections at a debt collection agency in Ballito is about firm, fair conversations and steady numbers. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is in Ballito (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.
Record reasons for non-payment so the credit team can adjust policy.
Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
Track broken promises-to-pay and follow up within 48 hours.
Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.

You'll need

Matric
Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations
Clear credit and criminal record
At least 6 months in collections, sales or a call centre
You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not

Nice if you have

Knowledge of the NCA and prescription rules
A second South African language
