Commercial Electrician (Shopfitting & Retail)

The residential electrical contractor in Stellenbosch needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls

• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations

• Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
• Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters

• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
