Property Maintenance Handyman (Rental Portfolio)

You'll fix what breaks and prevent what might, around the city hotel in Bellville. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Bellville. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist

• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency

• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app

• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
