Job Description

The office park maintenance team in Tzaneen needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Tzaneen, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What your day looks like

Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job

What you need

Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
Valid Code 08 driver's licence

Helpful, not essential

N3 electrical trade theory on top of your trade test
Working at Heights certificate still in date
Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
