Construction General Worker (Building Site)

Hard outdoor work on a townhouse construction site in Mahikeng, with a chance to learn a trade while you earn. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Mahikeng, North West, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
• Compact soil and layer bedding sand with a plate compactor
• Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines
• Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
• Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
• Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision

• You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
• Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
• Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
• Grade 8 or higher

• Registered on your ward or municipal job-seeker database
• A working-at-heights or scaffolding ticket

• Paid weekly or fortnightly
• Boots, hard hat and overalls issued on site
