Construction Health and Safety Agent

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this road construction project in Roodepoort needs someone who can do all three well. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Location: Roodepoort, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014

• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• You write clear reports in English
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification

• Fall protection planner training
• Diploma in Safety Management

• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Laptop and data for reporting

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
