Finishing Foreman (Fit-Out & Snagging)

This road and stormwater contractor in Randburg needs someone who can read the drawings and get a building out of the ground. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Location: Randburg, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
• Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection
• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
• Plan the week's work from the construction programme and brief the gangs each morning

• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post

• Worked on CIDB grade 6 or higher projects
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Manager or Candidate

• Project completion bonus linked to handover date
