Contracts Quantity Surveyor (Commercial Builds)

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Burgersfort. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Burgersfort-based, with most of your time spent at a main building contractor.

• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager

• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS

• Study support for an honours degree
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses

• List projects with their contract value and whether you worked for the client side or the contractor side.
