Cost Accountant (Food Processing Plant) – Experienced

An audit and advisory firm in Bellville needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Bellville-based, with most of your time spent at an audit and advisory firm.

• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads

• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups

• Power BI or a similar BI tool
• Completed articles at an audit firm
