Cost Accountant (Food Processing Plant)

Month-end, year-end and audit prep all run through you at a private school trust in Worcester. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is in Worcester (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run

• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased

• Power BI or a similar BI tool
• Completed articles at an audit firm
