Job Description

Customers bring their problems to your counter at a department store service desk in Soweto, and leave with answers. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The work is in Soweto, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

The work, day to day

Upsell contract upgrades, accessories or cover when it fits the customer.
Update customer details and file signed forms for audit.
Do SIM swaps and RICA registrations with proper ID checks.
Process returns, exchanges and credit notes under the Consumer Protection Act.
Book repairs and warranty claims and give customers a reference number.
Take payments, balance your till and bank cash at close.
Log complaints and pass them to the store or branch manager.

What you need

Retail hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and month-end
Accurate with cash and paperwork
Presentable and approachable with all kinds of customers
You can stay polite with a long queue watching

Helpful, not essential

A Customer Service NQF certificate
Medical scheme or insurance product knowledge
