Job Description

You'll feed, milk and care for animals on a piggery near Springs, every day of the year. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a piggery on the Springs side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Feed animals the right ration at the right time
Record births, deaths and treatments in the herd book
Move animals between camps or pens calmly
Milk cows in the parlour following the milking routine
Check animals for illness or injury and report to the manager
Collect eggs or check broiler house temperatures

What you need

Follows hygiene and biosecurity rules
Able to live on the farm or close by
Gentle and patient with animals
Comfortable around large animals
Willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays on rotation
South African ID or a legal work permit
