Job Description

You'll turn messy data into reports managers actually use, for a retail chain analytics team in Umhlanga. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Umhlanga-based, with most of your time spent at a retail chain analytics team. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Present findings to managers in plain language with clear charts
Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
Build ETL pipelines in SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Python
Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel
Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA
Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements

What you need

At least 2 years in a data or reporting role (not needed for graduate posts)
Advanced Excel
Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
Careful with sensitive customer data
Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool

Extra points for

Python with pandas for data wrangling
Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or Fabric
