Job Description

This microlender call centre in Sandton needs a calm negotiator who can hear "no" without giving up. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The work is in Sandton, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.
Keep calls within the National Credit Act and the Debt Collectors Act rules.
Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
Track broken promises-to-pay and follow up within 48 hours.
Record reasons for non-payment so the credit team can adjust policy.
Dial through your arrears book on the auto-dialler and confirm the debtor's identity.

What you need

Target-driven and comfortable with commission
Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations
You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
Matric

Structured weekday hours with only occasional Saturdays
