Debtors Clerk (Radiology Practice)

At a radiology group in Brits, your job is clean files, correct codes and money that comes in on time. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

This post is Brits-based, with most of your time spent at a radiology group. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Code consultations and procedures with ICD-10 and CCSA or NHRPL tariffs
• Take payments, issue receipts and balance the cash-up at close
• Request pre-authorisation for scans, procedures and admissions
• Answer the phones and send clinical questions to the right nurse or doctor
• Send monthly statements and age the debtors book
• Keep patient records locked and share them only with written consent
• Chase short payments with medical schemes and patients

• Friendly on the phone and firm about outstanding accounts
• Experience on a practice system such as GoodX, Elixir, Medinol or Healthbridge
• Matric
• Sound knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical aid tariff codes

• Bookkeeping basics or Pastel knowledge for practice accounts
• Understanding of how HPCSA practitioner and BHF practice numbers are used on claims

• Specialist rooms care about the discipline, so say if you've coded for surgeons, anaesthetists or radiologists.
