Job Description

A managed IT services provider in Centurion needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is in Centurion (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What your day looks like

Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves

Must-haves

Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
Patient and friendly with non-technical users
Able to log clear, complete ticket notes
Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365

Helpful, not essential

Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management
CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification
