Desktop Support Technician (Second Line)

A corporate head office in Pinetown needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a corporate head office in Pinetown. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Troubleshoot Outlook, Teams and OneDrive problems for users
• Write short how-to guides for common user problems
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves

• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Able to log clear, complete ticket notes
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma

• Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices
• CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification

• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Paid certification exams after probation
• Clear path to second-line and systems roles
• Company laptop and cellphone

• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
