Job Description

Plumbing work that keeps Cape Town CBD homes and buildings running: this residential plumbing company needs a trade-tested plumber. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The work is in Cape Town CBD, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Order fittings from the supplier and keep the van stocked
Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job
Clear blocked drains with a rodding machine and inspect lines with a drain camera
Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts

You'll need

At least 3 years as a qualified plumber, including geyser replacements
Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs

Helpful, not essential

SAQCC Gas registration for LPG installations
Heat pump and solar geyser installation experience
Drain camera and high-pressure jetting experience
