Job Description

The office park maintenance team in George needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is an office park maintenance team on the George side of Western Cape.

What you'll actually do

Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment
Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies

You'll need

Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre

Helpful, not essential

Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters
Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
