Electrician (Mine Plant & Shafts)

You'll keep machines, conveyors and shafts running at the gold mine shaft complex near Kimberley. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a gold mine shaft complex in Kimberley. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Repair and align conveyor belt drives, pulleys and idlers
• Complete job cards and work orders in SAP after each task
• Isolate and lock out machines under the site isolation procedure
• Guide and teach an artisan assistant on the job
• Test and maintain flameproof electrical equipment in coal sections

• Certificate of fitness for underground or surface work
• N3 certificate or Grade 12 with maths and science
• Trade test certificate in your trade (diesel mechanic, fitter, electrician, boilermaker, instrumentation or rigger)
• Able to read schematics, hydraulic circuits or wiring diagrams

• Artisan allowance on top of basic pay
• Tool allowance or company-issued toolbox
• Study assistance for engineering qualifications

• Mention underground or flameproof experience clearly. It separates mine-ready artisans from factory artisans.
• Your trade test certificate must show the trade and the date. Keep a certified copy ready because mines verify it.
