Job Description

Hard outdoor work on a road rehabilitation project in Secunda, with a chance to learn a trade while you earn. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a road rehabilitation project on the Secunda side of Mpumalanga. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What your day looks like

Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines
Clear rubble and load it into skips
Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer
Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed

You'll need

Willing to start early, often at 06:30
Prepared to travel between sites in the area
Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
Grade 8 or higher
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather

Extra points for

Previous site work you can show with a reference
Living near the site (many projects hire local labour)

On offer

Paid weekly or fortnightly
