End-User Computing Technician

Get hands-on support experience at a group of private schools in Roodepoort, from password resets to new laptop builds. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a group of private schools on the Roodepoort side of Gauteng. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops
• Install and configure printers, scanners and docking stations
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
• Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
• Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID

• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Able to log clear, complete ticket notes

• CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification
• ITIL Foundation
• Experience with Intune or SCCM for device management

• Standby pay for after-hours cover
• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Clear path to second-line and systems roles
• Paid certification exams after probation

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
• List your certifications right under your name; A+ and ITIL are common keyword filters.
