Enrolled Nurse (Surgical Ward) – Permanent

You'll give hands-on nursing care at a retirement village frail care centre in Johannesburg CBD, working alongside registered nurses. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Johannesburg CBD. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity
• Hand out oral medication under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Take and chart temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood glucose
• Spot confusion, falls risk or changes in mood and tell the nurse in charge
• Make beds, change linen and keep the rooms clean and uncluttered
• Keep the fluid and food intake charts accurate for every patient

• SANC enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for nursing posts
• Physically strong enough to lift and move patients safely
• First aid Level 1 or BLS certificate
• At least 1 year of hands-on patient care

• Dementia care or palliative care short course
• Code B or Code 8 driver's licence for home visits
• Experience in a frail care or hospice setting

• Meals provided on shift at many frail care centres
• Transport home after late shifts at some facilities
• Uniform supplied
