Job Description

You'll run a shift of officers at a guarding contract across several sites in Hammarsdale, keeping posts covered and standards high. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a guarding contract across several sites on the Hammarsdale side of KwaZulu-Natal.

What your day looks like

Meet the client weekly on security concerns
Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours
Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
Run on-site training on procedures and emergency drills
Order and issue uniform, radios and torches
Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows

Must-haves

At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
Matric, with a security management course a plus
Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
Firm with staff but fair and consistent
PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)
Available after hours for emergencies

Extra points for

Mining or hospital security experience
Labour relations or basic supervision course
