Mine Security Supervisor – Experienced

Step up from guarding into supervising on a guarding contract across several sites in Durban Central. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in Durban Central, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches
• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records

• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• Available after hours for emergencies
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)

• Cellphone allowance
• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles
• Management training for growth to operations manager

• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
• Say how many officers you supervised and on which sites. The number matters more than the title.
