Job Description

Officers look to you on every shift at a mining operation in Pretoria West. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a mining operation on the Pretoria West side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Run on-site training on procedures and emergency drills
Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current

You'll need

At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
Matric, with a security management course a plus
Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
Available after hours for emergencies

Helpful, not essential

Handgun competency for armed supervisor posts
Own reliable vehicle
Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app
