Fixed Asset Accountant (Mining) – Immediate Start

Your reports shape real decisions at this mid-sized manufacturing group in Kathu, so they must be right. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Kathu (Northern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes

• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
