Job Description

Hard, outdoor work on a sawmill near Prospecton, with training on chainsaws and fire safety. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll report in Prospecton. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Plant seedlings in prepared pits at the right spacing
Wear chainsaw chaps, helmets and ear protection at all times
Sharpen and service chainsaws daily
Prune lower branches with pruning saws and ladders
Fell, debranch and cross-cut trees with a chainsaw
Apply herbicide around young trees as instructed
Clear and maintain firebreaks during the dry season

You'll need

Physically strong and fit for steep slopes
Passes the medical check for fire crews
Valid ID
Available for early starts and fire-season standby
Able to work in a crew and follow the crew leader
