Job Description

A software development house in Bellville needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a software development house in Bellville. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs

You'll need

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases

Helpful, not essential

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Docker and Kubernetes experience
