Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a bank's digital channels team in East London. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a bank's digital channels team in East London. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Write unit and integration tests before you merge

Must-haves

Experience writing automated tests
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build

Extra points for

Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
