IT Helpdesk Agent (Night Shift)

Tickets come in all day at this call centre campus in Mthatha, and you close them. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Mthatha-based, with most of your time spent at a call centre campus. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Keep the asset register up to date when equipment moves
• Log, prioritise and update tickets on the service desk system
• Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
• Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
• Connect users remotely with a remote support tool to fix issues
• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes

• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts
• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
• Able to log clear, complete ticket notes
• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi

• Standby pay for after-hours cover
• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Paid certification exams after probation
• Clear path to second-line and systems roles

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
• Describe the size of the environment you supported, such as "400 users across 6 branches".
